Screws
Animal Orthopaedics offers a Self Tapping screw with a Hexalobe (Torx) head. A Hexalobe head provides a higher torque transfer vs. regular hex heads, and driving forces are spread over a broader surface. Regular hex head screws provide great deal of drive angle which produces stress at the corners of the hex socket, ultimately resulting in stripping of the head and driver.
Self Tapping Cortical Hexalobe Screws are offered in stainless steel as well as titanium in the following thread sizes; 2.0mm, 2.7mm and 3.5mm. A Cancellous Hexalobe Screw is offered in 4.0mm.
Plates
The quality of plates that are offered by Animal Orthopaedics is above and beyond that of the competition. Each plate, stainless steel or titanium, is laser etched with the part number and manufacturing lot number for complete traceability. A wide range of plates are offered, from a 1.5mm cuttable plate to a 3.5mm Limited Contact Broad TPLO plate.

Instruments
From handles
to drivers, quality instrumentation that is needed for surgery is
offered by Animal Orthopaedics. Below, are a few features and benefits
that are offered by Animal Orthopaedics and their instrumentation?
Drivers
Hexalobe
drivers are offered in two sizes; 2.0/2.7mm and 3.5/4.0mm. Made
of 440c stainless steel, the drivers are manufactured with longevity
in mind. Unlike regular hex drivers, these drivers have a greater
torque transfer and virtually no camout forces that would strip
the screw or the driver.
Quick Connect
All Taps and Drivers are made as Quick Connect instruments,
ensuring surgeons the convenience of changing from one instrument
to another quickly and efficiently saving precious time.
Identification
The ability to identify instruments and tools during surgery
is very valuable and Animal Orthopaedics as recognized this. All
instrumentation, when applicable, is marked with laser etch or color
coded for quick, easy identification.
